Cut and paste behavior

This is Crazy I was able to edit across Multiple Track in the 90's with an Atari and Master Trax Pro Why is this so complicated this is basic editing We should be able to select an area on the time line and Ctrl Click which tracks copy and then paste it further down the session on the same tracks!!!!!!

I guess I'm just used to a simpler way of editing I can get around on early sessions but as they grow if I need to copy selections over different tracks I don't want to jump through hoops I guess I get frustrated easy when I can't work the way I'd like Up to this snag Reaper has been an easy learning curve coming from another DAW Solid also Haven;t had a crash or freeze as of yet
