Motionblur without plugins?

I just wonder - has anyone been succesful by producing an okay motionblur with a avisynth script(without plugins)? If so... how? :) Tin2tin

it depends what sort of blur you want. if its motion estimation to detect movement and add blur in specific spots, then i sincerely doubt it. maybe someone has a plugin stashed away somewhere, but i dont know it. The other is blending adjacent frames together. This is really a cheat, but it can be done. The simplest way is to do this... AssumeFieldBased.Weave.VerticalReduceBy2 () It does a good blend job with adjacent frames. It's simple, but i don't know of any other, more sophisticated method.

real motionblur can only be achieved using the mvtools.dll from manao. use mvconvertfps() to blow up your video to 10 times the framerate, then use temporalsoften(2,255,255) then use selectevery(10,0)

Unfortunately mvconvertfps has been disabled in mvtools since version 0.9.5 and that version is no longer available on manao's site...

Even without any motion search, the combination of kassandro's RemoveGrain+Repair+TemporalRepair can give a usable motion blur. Follow the examples given in the documentation, but replace Clense() with TemporalSoften() /w high thresholds.

I've put MVTools v0.9.5 on I'm working on the MVTools currently, and as soon as I find the core stable enough, a new release will be out. It might include MVBlur / MVInterpolate and MVConvertFPS.
