If I understand and I'm not totally sure I do but, you need to get another source sound in to your computer and not via the Digi 001 or AM III card? Does your B&W G3 have an audio in port? Next to the speaker out port? I know there have been several upgrades to the sound control panel and it's capability. An upgrade to your OS may give you what you need.
RayS, The 001 is not capable of input outside of PT or direct i/o digi asio driver. Only the AMIII card had this ability...and that was broken after OS 8.6 and PT 5. Youll need to use another method/card/hardware to get soundmanager input. Some options...if you computer has no mic in (such as newer G4s) would be some sort of USB audio interface...or firewire...or..another PCI soundcard. The windows versions of PT have this capability.

My sound manager is OK with Digi........it may be OS related. I can select whatever input I want......CD, Internal, Mic....whatever........PT has to be closed to do this though. If I have iTunes open, PT will not launch because it tells me another app has control. Which is true. I can also select Digi as my output device if so desired. It appears that they can work together so I'm almost 100% sure that upgrading your OS will fix your issue since they are up to version 8.5.6 on the Sound Control Panel. As I stated earlier, they have made major improvements in the Sound Manager. Good-Luck...
