Reaper Review In SOS

On another note, it's great that SoS are reviewing REAPER again. I've got to say though, I know how slow things can be with taking articles to press - the world of print magazines is notorious in this regard - but 2.44 must be from August or something. I mean, c'mon! A bit lame IMO. SoS - keep up guys :D B

cool! not to be negative, but: for upgrading my gear, i recently read more or less every review avaiable in SOS, and also many forum entries. martin walker seems to be an extremely helpful and polite fellow, but maybe a bit too polite: almost ALL the reviews are very positive, real criticism is rare. i do not mean to say that reaper isn't really great, it of course is, but such reviews IMO lose some of their helpfulness, as they seem to be degenerating to pure advertisments more and more. even the crappiest gear gets good notes. there are some german music mags that are much worse, i hope SOS will not develop in this direction! but of course it's great to see that reaper gets more and more appreciated and recognized! :-)

There's probably no remaining doubt but I thought I'd just confirm that I too saw the January SOS, here in a Devon UK 'WH Smith' branch and it does have the Reaper V2.44 review. A very positive one at that. Cheers.

Also, if you read the actual reviews in tapeop magazine they tend to be extremely positive too, often because they've been written by someone who wants to review it 'cos they like it so much. In SoS magazine they tend to only review things they think are going to be good/usefull/interesting in the first place as reviewing rubbish gear just to say it's rubbish is a bit of a waste

I like both SOS and Tape Op a lot, I think they are are both in a category above the rest. SOS certainly has no financial incentive to review Reaper positively, so if they like it, it's because it's likable. :)

I am not into ponys, nor porn of any sort. but I do love my SOS subscription. and i read TapeOP whenever I can get my hands on a copy. .t
