Granted, but look at the price and it's not so bad... Cost-wise, you could just about handle losing it in the pub, heaven forbid. Arky ;o)

Even Panasonic (don't quote me on that, I will try to look it up) has a similar thing ... image quality is reported to be rather low and the recording time is just too limited.

A lot of digital photocameras can do quicktime movies at same res and store alot more than 3 minutes. 512 mb compact flash ram is very cheap now and opens up for 48 minutes compared to your cam. But it looks cute compared to my "big" JVC DV cam
