Mac Pro 8 core Nehalem

hi guys... my first post here.. Reaper is soo amazing, it has pretty much reduce my protools set up to exporting of tracks lol : ) I have been working on my mac book pro 2.8Ghz Core2Duo with 4G ram.. I do mainly mixes, and some drum triggering and also use Nebula quite a lot... Yeah the MBP just no doing too well... I am about to pull a trigger on a Mac Pro 2.26 8Core Nehalem... any last words before I make this move? Anything I should watch out? pit falls?? I assume this will be a Huge improvement on my Macbook pro for CPU raw power to run plugs?? I work mainly on 48K 24Bit mixes... there are few rare 96K mixes depending on client requests. Just a man going to spend a huge chunk of cash and need some comforting and confirmation LOL Thanks all!!!!

Perhaps I should also ask.... does and can Reaper take advantage of 8 cores?? or does it max out at 4???? Thanks everyone.. I am sure this has been discuss everywhere... but I couldnt find any direct answers to my question.. post link to discussions if there are any good ones... Thanks

I would only use 64bit if you have more than 16GB of RAM with that 8core machine...and make sure your chair has a 5 point harness so you aren't thrown from the ride!
