Low-cost mic pre w/phantom for studio talkback recommendations?

Hi, I need a basic mic pre with +48V phantom power for a vocal booth talkback. It doesn't have to be fancy or even sound all that great. Is there anything on the market that would also include a microphone built-in. Possibly an all-in-one unit for talkback purposes? Thanks. Mike

I hate to say it, but Behringer has some cheap little mixers that would work.

I actually used to own a Behringer MX602a mixer back in the day. I may have to get another one! Haha.

Actually have had one in use for the past year and a half....works very well...very flexible My only concern is whether the mixer colors the sound it passes to the monitors....therefore messing with my mixing....but all in all I don't think it does

If you just need a mic pre, not a mixer, try the M-Audio Audio Buddy mic pre...not only cheap, but WAY good for the money. Not as flexible as its big brother the DMP3, but still pretty darn good. Only problem I have with it is that at VERY low gains the gain pot shuts down the signal altogether. Scott

I actually got the Audio Buddy at GC a few nights ago. Thanks, Scott. It's surprisingly good for the price, and might be usable for actual recording purposes. Thanks for the recommendations, everyone. - Mike
