SSD4 Reaper and Yamaha Edrums Latency question.

I'm using SSD4 in Reaper for sound replacement on my Yamaha DTXpress 4 I have everything hooked up and working using a Midi to USB cable. The Problem I have is when I strike a single hit on say my snare drum I experience no or little latency. But if I try to do a roll, or marching roll, It seems a bit off. I'm pretty new to Midi, but not new to Edrums. Any ideas of why my rolls aren't sounding out cleanly? I have lowered my buffers from 8 to 2 and it helped some. But if I go lower than 2 it gets super weird so 2 is the lowest I can go.

I'm using a E-MU x midi 1x1 tab, and it's using it's own plug and play driver. I'm using a HP elite book. Windows 7, Intel core I5-2410M @2.30 ghz. 500gb hard drive, 8 gb ram. it's a 64 bit version of windows 7 professional. So therefore my Reaper is 64 bit. Stay tuned for a screen shot of my Reaper settings.

OK so I changed to wasapi and in input devices it doesn't show my Midi cable, I only show Line in, Microphone, and Stereo Mix. After changing it I get no sound. If I change it back to wave out I still get no sound. Do I need to restart Reaper when I change these settings?
