Hi to the community, I'm using Reaper for quite a while but I haven't discovered all goodies so far. I would like to extend my Mixing Console by an external FX Rack. I've tried a couple VST host applications but none of them actually worked as good as Reaper does - So here's the plan. I'm using DANTE Virtual Soundcard to interface with my console. Dante provides me with 16 bidirectional channels. These channels can be used as Send/Return or Inserts from the console. What would be the recommended way to have the audio inputs straight connected with the effect and the effect output with the audio outputs ? Audio IN ----> FX VST ----> Audio OUT Regarding latency, I don't expect a noticeable latency :-) As a side note, recording and Midi is not required for the setup. Your feedback/ideas are highly appreciated. Thanks SFX
Hi, I'm using Reaper for live-mixing, but in your case, I'd recommend a VST host, for it is only for routing efx. When I'm working with a (hardware) console, I normally use my PC-laptop, with an RME Babyface, as host I use liveprofessor. BR DJLuke
Hi DJLuke, thanks for your input. I followed your recommendation and it looked in the beginning pretty good. However, it seems that LiveProfessor has a problem with the Dante Audio Card. So I'm back to my origin question. Based on what I see in Reaper, it should be possible to run Reaper as FX Site Rack. BR SFx
