Actually, i think it's 9.0.1. (minuet) It's a update to 9.0 that mac is quietly introducing at some point. I believe it's a bit behind schedule. Check out haze
--------------------- попытка не пытка, правда товарищ Берия
I JUST upgraded my G4/400 Sawtooth from 8.6 to OS9 yesterday. This was because PTLE was crashing hard (system lockup) and some very weird things were happening with the files: 1. create new session file; 2. save; Sherlock/Find locates file and folder; 3. hiding all but Finder and drilling down via drive icons could NOT locate folder or file. VERY weird. I lost several hours of work. My call to digi support gave me the pat answer of "We only support OS9 on G4 Sawtooth". Digi support DID discover the file problem above, however, and, of course, recommended the OS upgrade. The other thing that may have been contributing was that my audio drive (separate) had been formatted with the latest FWB and the system drive with the Apple 8.6 Disk initializer. So I installed OS9 (clean install) AND re-initialized my audio drives with OS9 and HFS+. However, PTLE crashed twice last night after doing that with the default settings on the OS9 CD (about once an hour). I was getting "type 1 errors". At least I didn't have to re-build the desktop or trash the DAE preferences file. I removed Firewire extensions and Internet-related extensions and ran another hour or so with no crashes. So far, so good, but I don't have long-term usage with the new system. I may find a couple more extensions I'll have to get rid of. I'll post here when its been running longer. The saga continues... ------------------ Larry W.
