Ive just finished backing up one of my DVD movies (The Matrix) Ive put it on a normal CDR disc and copied it in MPEG-2 formatt(SVCD) which is what my DVD player plays. But I get the prompt "Disc Error" from my DVD player when I try it. So tried it on my friends DVD player which also supports SVCD and it worked fine. My DVD player is a LG model number 3250p. Im thinking this might be LG's attempt to stop piracy by not letting there DVD players read burnt discs. Anybody come across this before.

Did you use DVD2SVCD to create this or are you posting in the wrong forum? To create a SVCD you don't simply put a mpg on a disc. You must create a SVCD. You can either burn the bin/cue files that DVD2SVCD creates or using Nero and the SVCD template you can burn the mpg that way. Check the DVD player list at and make sure to read the comments. I cannot find your player on the list at vcdhelp, but most LG's cannot play SVCD's according to that list. If you want to play these it looks like it might be time for a new player. Mark
