when using the bitrate calculator for a dvd i need to put the actual movie time in, yes? when i get those values which value applies from the bitrate calculator (avg or max) do i need to apply to the scale in rempeg? and does it have to be exact? i am also having difficulty when i take the results and use them in spruce up. i get an aspi diver problem notification when i open it. and am i supposed to be able to hear sound when i play the resulting movie within spruce up (i'm told that it should automatically import the ac3 file with the m2v file). many little issues and i'm sure i'll find more as i try to go along. any help would be appreciated. i am following the guide from dvd2dvdr. thank you. john
John, I use the DVD bitrate calculator (ver 0.2) by mhammer. VERY easy to use. A couple of points to remember, the "file" size is in bytes. To get the true byte size, use something like windows explorer, and check the properties of the file. Typically, a file shown in the "normal" explorer window might show a *.VOB as 1,048,038, check properties, it will show 1,703,508,352. It is this 2nd value you will need to use to input to the bitrate calculator (added to all the other vobs as well of course). ReMPEG will give you details of the average bitrate, after it has analysed the movie ("Main" tab, if my memory serves me correct). As for the resultant *.m2v file, it is a video only format, so there is no audio, IFOedit remuxes it back. Hope that helps. HomerJ :)
