help - cant seem to pan correctly

howdy folks... here is my situation... i have a new 001 and i am in the process of rebuilding some tunes that i had recorded in cakewalk... i am saving my cakewalk tracks as wav files to import into pro tools, (each track is a wav file, so each tune has several tracks, that is several wav files.) once on the mac, i open pro tools and import audio tracks... converting the wav to aiff files... all seems to be working ok except once they are int the new pro tools session, the pan feature does not work.... plug ins work, volume works, etc. any thoughts? thanks

If you have each converted file on its own track in Pro Tools, not having panning ability would be very odd, unless... Are your outputs for each track set as mono or stereo? A mono output (A1 instead of A1-2) will remove panning for that track. Otherwise, you can try trash DAE, and ProTools prefs.

hhmmm, not really sure what you mean here. i saved each track as a mono file from cakewalk. i did a test saving each track as a stereo wav file but that did not do the trick either. not sure where i would have the output set from pro tools. could you elaborate? thnx

well, it is now working. it is odd, because i played around with the I/O settings and now it works, but, i have gone back to the settings they were at before i made any changes and it still works... anyways, as long as it is working i don't want to futs with it that much, but i will continue to play with settings to learn fully their function. thanks for the tips
