FlaskMPEG problem & question....

I've been searching thru the pages, but havn't found an answer to my problem. I've downloaded some SVCD's then mounted them using demeon tools and saved the mpeg to a folder. It plays fine in powerdvd, but when I try and load it into flask, it does nothing. I had to re render the whole movie using vegas video 3.0 to load it into flask. How come I can't just load it into flask, is it possible to do this without re rendering? If i have to re render is there anything faster then vegas video? Another question involving divx5 and any other encoding program, I'm using "Divx4 Bitrate Calculator v2.4(c) 2001 Spark" I've been using those birate values for my divx5 encoding. Are the values the same, because my movies are't coming out to be about 700MB. What program should i use to get the bitrate for divx5? Last but not least, is there a reason why sometimes i can't choose a bitrate higher then 56kbps(nothing else higher is listed) when the recorded audio is at 224kbps? I appreciate all the help, been doing alot of reading and learning alot on this board :)

no it's not a problem specificly with flask, i have 2 mp3 codecs, Fraunhofer and is lame a codec or a encoder? edit: fixed the problem I'm doing both 1 pass for small jobs and 2 pass for dvd > divx using gordian knot. Where do i get a divx5 bitrate calculator?

sorry, but i thought gordian knot only opened d2v files, how do you do other files? and tutorials?
