BFD Drum Software

Do I need a MIDI sequencer or keyboard for BFD, or can I use my computer keyboard to trigger it? I have never recorded midi before.

you can draw notes to trigger sequences ( premade grooves that it comes with) or draw midi notes to trigger individual drums.

Ive been working with BFD for a couple of weeks, programmimg via a keyboard. These are the best sounding natural drums Ive heard. The key word is natural. Using BFD in RTAS you get a stereo output, so you cant compress or eq an individual drum. On the odd occasion I feel the need I simply mute the other drums and record the kit piece to an audio track....works fine. (rewire will give you individual outs...I cant see any reason to use VST) ...its actually quite spooky to hit STOP an have a cymbal ring on for what feels like minutes...
