Why doesn't this work? VCD bitrate question 

The disc I'm copying is 82 minutes - a little too long for standard VCD. So, I reduced the audio bitrate to 128. My calculation shows this should be sufficient: 83.46 minutes = 6.4 billion bits per 80 minute disc/ 1150kbs+128kbs However, it encoded with a full 1st disc (826 megs) and a 2nd disc with 31 megs. I've verified that the source VOBs are only 82 minutes long. What am I doing wrong? when bbmpeg muxes the video to the audio , it adds padding that will always bring it to vcd size(tmpgencs built in muxer does the same thing although dvd2svcd doesnt use that) if you goto advanced settings on the bbmpeg tab and tick VBR (even though its cbr) in that dialog, that will allow it to adjust the padding.. and of course your dvd player needs to be able to handle the odd bitrate for vcd.
