My brother and I have discovered that we can playback Reaper music projects over the web via a third party utility called Team Viewer. We have found that we can playback a Reaper multi-tracked piece (let's say ten tracks of real drums) on the 'local' machine and it can be heard on the remote machine perfectly well...full stereo..excellent sonic quality etc. Taking it to the next step, what we tried doing was (and it seemed a natural evolution to this FUN) was to have my bro listen to me recording the drums LIVE while I was tracking them. Well - it didn't work - he couldn't hear anything. But - on the playback - he could hear the tracks fine. So the question is: why can he not hear/monitor the tracks being recorded LIVE, but he CAN hear/monitor the tracks after being recorded on the playback. It seems he SHOULD be able to monitor them while being recorded live - but no good. Is there anyone who can offer a solution to this - a work around or whatever. I don't think it is a Team Viewer thing...I think it's possibly the way Reaper handles the audio while monitoring the live recording

you should definitely try Ninjam. then you can jam in sync (actually x measures late to compensate for network latency, but in time). it's a native plugin you put on your master track.
