Capturing VGA RGB video

Heres my delema: I want to capture video from a 3d modeling software that has no video or image file output. I tried using Camtasia and Media cam to capture video, Camtasia and media were able to capture the video but it bogged down the 3d applications performance and the video it capture was very choppy and unacceptable. My current work around is: 1. outputing the video/screen via the S-video jack on the video card to a DV cam 2. Capturing the Video Via firwire 3. Deinterlacing > bluring/sharpening > Color correcting/saturing. The above results in so so video quality. Heres my question! Any ideas of any software/hardware to capture the 3d application in a higher resolution while maintaining a good frame rate. Preferably as an avi. I found this on the web , it sorta does what I want: As far as i can tell its limited to DV capture (720 X 480) it would be high in quality though. It would go something like this: VGA/RGB > DV instead of VGA/RGB > SVIDEO > DV Thanks -Tony

Does it use DirectX oder OpenGL? How about then? *edit* Just to shorten before you visit the site: Fraps is a software for real time capturing any DirectX or OpenGL application supporting up to 1024x768@30 fps

Yes I looked into Fraps, but i just thought it was just for Quake and what not. Ill add that to my list of things to try, thanks for bringing the DirectX OpenGL support to my attention. -Tony
