Would one want to use different audio codecs for encoding music and encoding movie audio? Which audio codecs are best suited (in terms of a given size giving the best quality) for movie audio and music audio? The only factor in my mind suggesting that one might want to use different codecs for each is that music audio would require a higher bitrate than movie audio, and I presume that some codecs are optimised for given bitrates. Up till now I wouldn't have used anything but LAME except things change fast and any guidance from the codec authorities at doom9 would be greatly appreciated ;)
I mean,if speed is important u can encode 2hr movie in 4hrs using divx3.11.But this codec is being replaced by other ones soon. As i have a slower machine i'm using this codec for all my rips. But it is going to be discarded by most of us.And u didn't have much options to play with as like in Xvid which gives lesser frame rates(encoding) and DIVX 5.x(Latest found to have more options and is slower than XVID now when most setting are set to use). if ur not satisfied with this visit doom9's codec shoot out .:)
